Boy Scout's Merit Badge University coming to Penn State Greater Allegheny

Penn State Greater Allegheny will host the fourth annual Merit Badge University on Saturday, Nov. 2. The classes are sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 338 of Laurel Highlands Council.

The purpose of this event is to provide scouts an opportunity to earn merit badges. Members of the campus THON committee will volunteer their services for this event. THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. It raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.

Merit badge classes are either half-day or full-day programs. Each scout can take either one full-day class or two half-day classes during the duration of Merit Badge University. Please see the list for this year’s class offerings.

The fee for the program is $10 per scout. The deadline for registration is Oct. 25.

All requirements can be found at meritbadge.com.
