UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State University Libraries is hosting a fun, interactive open house from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 11 and 12 in Pattee, Paterno and all branch libraries at University Park. Grand prizes for undergraduate students include a chance to win an iPad, mini iPad, an Endnote subscription and gift certificate to the Penn State Bookstore among other giveaways.
Penn State school spirit will fill the Libraries, during the two days of fun and educational activities that will acquaint students with Libraries services and collections. The first 350 students to visit all 11 library stops, which include the branch libraries, will receive a Libraries T-shirt. All student participants who complete the event's minimum of seven library stops will receive a stainless steel water bottle.
One of the largest and most successful library orientation programs of its kind nationwide, the Penn State Libraries’ Open House has been held since 2001 and attracts more than 3,500 students each fall. Student feedback from the event is highly positive, with more than 90 percent of students indicating that they would recommend the open house as a useful activity for other students to attend.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, see www.libraries.psu.edu/openhouse or follow @psulibs on Twitter or like Penn State University Libraries@University Park on Facebook for real-time updates leading up to and during the event.
