Conference to focus on sustainable production and service supply chains

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State will host the Advances in Production Management Systems 2013 International Conference from Sept. 10 to 12 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on the University Park campus.

The theme of the conference is "Sustainable Production and Service Supply Chains." More than 150 people from more than 20 countries will attend the event.

Keynote speakers include Penn State President Rodney Erickson; Tom Richard, professor of biological engineering and director of Penn State's Institutes for Energy and the Environment; Vijay Srinivasan, chief of the Systems Integration Division in the Engineering Laboratory at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology; and Dan Nagy, managing director of the Inter-Regional Secretariat of Intelligent Manufacturing Systems.

The conference will feature an industry panel on enabling smart manufacturing, optional tours, paper presentations and special workshop sessions.
