Campus launches new Six @ Seven community lecture series

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. -- Penn State Lehigh Valley Continuing Education will launch a new learning opportunity for the community in October. The Six @ Seven series will feature in-depth lectures presented by a campus faculty member at 7 p.m. for six consecutive weeks. The first lecture takes place Oct. 17 at the Lehigh Valley campus and is open to the community. The cost of the series is $100.

The inaugural speaker is history instructor David Longenbach, who will present "America's Modern Wars." The one-hour lectures will begin by looking at the Civil War and progress through World War I, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the first and second Gulf conflicts.

"We have had great success in offering lecture-style programming in the past, particularly with our SAGE 55+ series. Six @ Seven will allow participants of all ages to delve deeper into a particular topic," said Diane McAloon, assistant director of continuing education. "We are committed to providing programs that open doors for those who seek distinctive learning opportunities for professional and personal growth."
