Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence plans teaching assistant workshops

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present two sessions of TA 101: A Guide to the Teaching Assistant from 1:45 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, and 11:15 to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, in Room 315, Rider Building. 

Participants will get pointers on how to clarify faculty expectations, grade in an effective (and time-efficient) way and handle student conflict. The workshop is designed for new teaching assistants but is open to anyone. The program is led by Chas Brua, instructional consultant with the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.Participants are free to bring their own beverages and lunch.
