UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The TechCelerator@State College will again offer its free Research to Start-Up Workshop from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 27, in Room 243, Technology Center, across from The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.
In 90 minutes, an overview on the steps necessary to turn research results into a profitable business venture will be shared. Last year this entrepreneurial training class filled up quickly. Topics that will be discussed include:
-- An update on Penn State’s intellectual property policies
-- The importance of filing an Invention Disclosure with Penn State
-- Key business issues to be considered
-- How to recognize a market opportunity
-- Early-stage financing and where to find it
This seminar, which is co-sponsored by Ben Franklin’s Transformation Business Services Network, Penn State’s Small Business Development Center and the Penn State Office of Technology Management, is an excellent opportunity to come and discuss your ideas with others who have a similar interest, while also gaining a better understanding of the commercialization process.
