Women's volleyball schedule features five BTN matches, two on ESPN2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The No. 2 Penn State women's volleyball team will be featured live on the Big Ten Network five times during the 2013 season, with two additional broadcasts on ESPN2. The defending Big Ten champion Nittany Lions will kick off the BTN slate hosting fellow 2012 NCAA National Semifinalist, Michigan at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 in Rec Hall.

Other BTN matches include Penn State's clash at home with No. 6 Minnesota at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9 as well as road matches against Illinois, No. 7 Michigan and No. 14 Michigan State.

The Lions will make their first ESPN2 debut of the season on the road at Indiana, taking on the Hoosiers at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3. Penn State's matchup against No. 23 Ohio State in Rec Hall will air live on ESPN3 and then again on ESPN2 the following day Thursday, Oct. 24.

In 2013, 11 letterwinners and six starters return to the court, led by four AVCA All-Americans, including first team selections Micha Hancock (Edmond, Okla.) and Ariel Scott (Ridgewood, N.J.). Joining the pair is two-time second team honoree Katie Slay (Raleigh, N.C.) and third-team, three-time All-American Deja McClendon (Louisville, K.Y.).

Season tickets for the 2013 Penn State women's volleyball season are currently available for purchase by calling 1-800-NITTANY, or by visiting the Athletics Ticket Office in the Bryce Jordan Center during normal business hours. Single-game tickets will go on sale Monday, Aug. 19 at noon.
