Fall 2013 Arts Project workshop series announced

New workshop, 'Wet Felting,' added to series

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Arts Project at Penn State Lehigh Valley will offer a variety of workshops for six weeks from Sept. 16 to Oct. 24. All instructors are Penn State adjunct faculty for the campus’ growing art program and bring a wealth of artistic experiences to the program.

"Wet Felting, An Exploration" is new for this fall and will be offered on Mondays from 1-3 p.m. with instructor Kim Tanzos. Wet felting is a process that uses wool, soapy water and agitation to create beautiful fabrics, jewelry and sculpture. In this course, students will explore a variety of wet felting techniques, such as nuno felting and working with a resist, to create unique works of art.

Other workshops offered include Beginning and Advanced Jewelry and Metalwork, Drawing and Design Fundamentals, Exploring Printmaking, and Digital Photography – The Landscape and City.

Senior citizens 55 years of age and older receive a 10 percent discount off of the $180 tuition cost. For more information, call Ann Lalik at 610-285-5261 or visit www.lv.psu.edu/artsproject/ online. To register, contact Carol Buddock at 610-285-5058.
