As district director, Conklin will oversee administrative services -- such as budget and finances, human resources and communications -- and will serve as a liaison to county commissioners, extension advisory boards, community groups, local businesses and industry organizations.

As secondary social studies department head from 2009 to 2012, he also designed curricula, supervised a staff of seven other teachers and balanced a yearly budget.

Conklin has been involved in numerous service activities in education and in the community. He was vice chairman of the City of Bradford Zoning Board from 2008 to 2012, and he served as secretary of the board of directors for Evergreen Elm Inc., a nonprofit mental health and mental retardation organization in Bradford, from 1999 to 2012.
