Palmer Museum of Art to present The Art of Poetry summer reading on July 18

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Three African poets, from the western, southern and northern regions of the continent, will give a poetry reading titled "Meet Africa: North, South and West" at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, July 18, at Penn State's Palmer Museum of Art.

Patricia Jabbeh Wesley, associate professor of English at Penn State Altoona, and Gabeba Baderoon, assistant professor of women's studies and African studies, will read along with El Habib Louai, a poet, translator and high school English teacher from Morocco in north Africa.

The Palmer Museum of Art is located on Curtin Road and admission is free. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. The museum is closed Mondays and some holidays.
