More than 125,000 visitors enjoyed the 47th annual Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, held each year in downtown State College and on Penn State's University Park campus. The festival began with Children and Youth Day on July 10; the primary part of the festival began on July 11 and ran through July 14. The festival is nationally recognized for its sidewalk sale exhibition, gallery exhibition, sand sculpture, and musical, dance and theatrical performances.
