Penn State Day slated for Thursday on Big Ten Network

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Big Ten Network is set to air some of Penn State's most memorable moments on Thursday, July 11 with 24 consecutive hours of Nittany Lion programming.

The second of two scheduled Penn State Days this summer will highlight the football, men's basketball, women's track and field and women's volleyball programs. Thursday's Penn State programming is set for a 6 a.m. start and concludes Friday at 6 a.m.

Penn State Day kicks off Thursday at 6 a.m. with the Nittany Lion football team's 38-14 primetime win at Iowa during the 2012 season, followed by the 2013 Blue-White Game at 9 a.m. Penn State's thrilling 24-21 Senior Day overtime win over Wisconsin from last season will air at 4 p.m. Nittany Lion wins over nationally-ranked Alabama (6 p.m.) and Boston College (2 and 10 p.m.) from the 1980's also will air on Thursday.

The women's track and field team's victory at the 2013 Big Ten Outdoor Championships airs at 11 a.m. The Nittany Lion basketball team's 2008 win over Indiana will air at 8 p.m. and midnight, BTN will air the women's volleyball team's 2012 Big Ten opening win over No. 3 Nebraska.

BTN televised more than 110 Penn State events during the 2012-13 academic year, in addition to coverage of 15 Big Ten Championships and institutional programming. Twenty-seven Penn State squads were featured amongst BTN's more than 800 events in 2012-13.

BTN is available to more than 80 million homes through agreements with more than 300 cable, satellite and telco providers in all 50 states and Canada. Adams and Blue Ridge Cable in Pennsylvania, though, do not carry the Big Ten Network. The network also is not available to Armstrong Cable customers in western Pennsylvania and the Medina and Youngstown, Ohio areas. A combined total of more than 35,000 Penn State alumni live in communities served by the three cable providers, in addition to thousands more fans and current Penn State students.

Multiple Penn State football games and other sports will air on BTN this fall, including the Sept. 7 contests vs. Eastern Michigan (12 p.m.) and the Sept. 14 primetime contest with UCF (6 p.m.).
