All-Sports Museum to offer Beaver Stadium, Lasch Building tours in July

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – This July the Penn State All-Sports Museum will offer tours and programs for the entire family.On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 12, 13 and 14, the museum will be conducting Beaver Stadiums Tours. Lasting approximately 70 to 90 minutes, the tours provide visitors with an opportunity to see parts of the stadium, such as the home team locker room, that are not ordinarily open to the public. Tours will take place at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Sunday. Cost is $15 per adult, $10 per child/senior/student. Tickets may be ordered at 800-NITTANY. Walk-ups are welcome if space is available.At 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, the museum will offer its first Blue Bus Tour which allows participants to walk in the game day footsteps of Penn State football players. The program consists of a tour of the Lasch Building, including lobby, practice fields, weight room and meeting areas before participants board the iconic blue buses for the ride to Beaver Stadium. Once there, they will enter the home team locker room before walking out to the field and seeing the media room. Cost is $60 per participant. Tickets may be ordered at 800-NITTANY, beginning Monday July 8. Space is limited.All proceeds from the Beaver Stadium and Blue Bus Tours benefit the Penn State All-Sports Museum’s collections and community programming.Throughout July, the museum will feature a new exhibit titled "From the Vault: Highlights from the Museum’s Collection," which features rarely seen items from the museum’s holdings. Highlights from the exhibit include the Nittany Lion mascot suit worn during the 1987 Fiesta Bowl, football cleats from the 1910s and a selection of historic Penn State footballs. The exhibit will run until Dec. 1.
