Physical Therapist Assistant program reaches out to community

UNIONTOWN, Pa. -- On Saturday, June 8, students from the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus assisted in the Osteoporosis 5k Run/Walk at Mt. Macrina in Uniontown as a way to promote health and wellness within the community. The students educated walk participants about risk factors for osteoporosis and the role of physical activity in osteoporosis prevention and management.

Pamela Pologruto, instructor in the physical therapist assistant program, said, “One of the goals of our program is for PTA faculty and students to participate in activities that promote the health and wellness of society. Our program is attempting to make partnerships within the community to give back.”
