Penn State York will offer a Saturday accelerated bachelor of science degree in business (BSB) this fall that can be completed in as little as 20 months, based on credits already earned. An information session about this new program will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, in Room 101 of the John J. Romano Administration Building at the campus.

The information session will provide an opportunity for interested adults to hear more about this Saturday program, which is being delivered through the Video Learning Network (VLN), and features the latest real-time interactive video conferencing technology. Those who attend can learn about the admissions process, financial aid options and program specifics. The accelerated BSB is designed for adults who have an associate degree or credits toward a bachelor’s degree. The program will enable students to develop the knowledge and business skills needed for career advancement or new employment opportunities.

The accelerated schedule involves delivery of two courses on Saturdays for seven weeks. Courses also include an online learning component.  This degree program is being offered by the University at a variety of locations across the state, including the York campus.

The BSB program differs from many traditional programs in that it is based on a "systems thinking" and study approach that prepares students to become workforce participants equipped with multi-faceted skills applicable to any number of business areas and situations. The curriculum focuses on management and marketing; emphasizing leadership, ethics and strategic thinking across all classes. The program focuses on interpersonal and technical communications skills, collaborative student-centered learning and a high degree of faculty-student interaction. This is an ideal program for the person who wants to earn a business degree from an internationally recognized University, without taking time off work during the week.
