Sixth Annual Coquese's Drive set for Aug. 16

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Sixth Annual Coquese's Drive for the Centre County Women's Resource Center presented by the Lady Lion Cager Club and Tom Cali and Ellen Kline of RE/MAX Centre Realty will take place on Friday, Aug. 16 at the Penn State Blue Course, Lady Lion head coach Coquese Washington announced Thursday (June 6). The tournament will commence with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Centre County Women's Resource Center.

The golf tournament begins with a 9 a.m. registration and breakfast, followed by a 10 a.m. shotgun start with a closing lunch following the round of golf.

This year there is an Early Bird Special where individual golfer can participate for $100 and a foursome is $400 for those entries received by July 1. Entry fees after July 1 are $125 for individuals and $500 for a foursome. Entry fee includes breakfast, greens fee, cart, lunch and tournament gift. Tee signs to support the event are also available for $100.

Last year, a record 129 golfers hit the links at the Penn State Blue Course for the Fifth Annual Coquese's Drive for the Women's Resource Center. The event raised a record $25,333 for the Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) to bring the five-year total to $79,869.

The Centre County Women's Resource Center (CCWRC) provides services for people who have experienced Domestic and or Sexual Violence. Counselor/Advocates are available 24 hours a day. There is no cost involved and all services are private. The CCWRC provided services for 1,300 people last year in Centre County.
