Penn State York celebrated its 43rd annual spring commencement May 3, in the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center at the campus. Frank E. Dittenhafer II, ’78 Fellow of the American Institute of Architects, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional and president of Murphy & Dittenhafer Architects, was the commencement speaker.

In addition to hearing from Dittenhafer, Penn State York continued its tradition of the open microphone where graduates spoke for a moment. The top graduating senior in Penn State York’s baccalaureate programs Ruta Sadanand Dandekar, bachelor of science in information sciences and technology with high distinction and a minor in business; top associate degree graduate Annelise H. Young, associate degree in letters, arts and sciences; and top master’s degree graduate Gina Renee Grolemund, master of education in teaching and curriculum; also spoke.
Penn State York awarded 13 master of education in teaching and curriculum degrees; 55 baccalaureate degrees; seven bachelor of arts in communication arts and sciences; nine bachelor of science in business; three bachelor of science in electro-mechanical engineering technology; 22 bachelor of science in information sciences and technology; 10 bachelor of science in human development and family studies; and four bachelor of science in science. The campus will also award 20 associate degrees: three in business administration; four in electrical engineering technology; three in human development and family studies; six in information sciences and technology; three in letters, arts and sciences (liberal arts); and one in mechanical engineering technology.
