Penn State Hershey Epilepsy Program recognized by NAEC

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Program was recently recognized as a Level 4 Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). Level 4 epilepsy centers have the professional expertise and facilities to provide the highest level medical and surgical evaluation, and treatment for patients with complex epilepsy.

The NAEC Board continues to evaluate the criteria used in its center designation process and the accuracy of the data submitted by member centers. The designation of Level 4 specialized epilepsy centers must reflect the expertise of personnel and comprehensive and multi-disciplinary services described in the NAEC Guidelines.

Penn State Hershey Epilepsy Program is a team of neurosurgeons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, neuropsychologists, neurophysiology technologists and neuroscience nurses. A four-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and a neurophysiology lab to provide extensive testing help the team determine the best treatment for each patient.
