Penn State Schuylkill hosted Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day 2013 on April 25. The campus’ chapter of the Commission for Women committee hosted the event for 11 children to help them explore career options and understand what their parent(s) did on campus.

The program began with Jerry Bowman, coordinator of public information, welcoming the children to the campus and wishing them well on their day’s events. Michael Gallis (physics), Melinda Anthony-Spolski (counseling services), Ronald Kelly (criminal justice), Penny Shade (food services), Tina Rose (career services), and Cecelia Boran (health services) all presented interactive programs throughout the day. Penn State Schuylkill’s Chancellor, Kelly Austin, made the event possible by providing funding. The Commission for Women Schuylkill Campus also received money from the University Commission for Women.
