Penn State Harrisburg building reopens after bomb threat

HARRISBURG, Pa. — An anonymous note was found today in the Penn State Harrisburg Olmsted Building alleging that there was a bomb in the building that would explode at 1 p.m. The note was found at approximately 12:50 and campus police immediately evacuated the building. A search for suspicious items and explosive devices was conducted and nothing was found.

The building was re-opened at approximately 1:30 p.m.

“Threats such as this are a federal offense and are taken very seriously,” said Chief of Police Kevin Stoehr. “Having ensured the immediate safety of the campus community, we will continue to actively investigate the threat.”
