UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- This year's Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day event, presented by Penn State's Office of Human Resources and Educational Equity, took place Thursday, April 25. The event drew approximately 550 participants and their mentors to about 50 career sites highlighting the food industry, animals, nursing, horticulture, sciences, the weather, the arts and most everything in between.

W. Terrell Jones, vice provost for educational equity at Penn State, was the luncheon speaker. Jones spoke about obstacles that may restrict a person's success in their career and education.

The Penn State event is part of a nationwide effort to help children explore career options. For more information on Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, go to http://www.daughtersandsonstowork.org.
