Waynick Lecture to focus on 'Space Katrina'

NOAA program coordinator to discuss space weather storms' impact

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — William Murtagh, program coordinator with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Space Weather Prediction Center, will present "Space Weather Storms: Are We Ready for a 'Space Katrina'" at 8 p.m. on April 12, in 22 Deike Building on the University Park campus of Penn State.

The event, free and open to the public, is the 2013 Arthur H. Waynick Memorial Lecture. Murtagh's talk is sponsored by the Communications and Space Sciences Laboratory and the Department of Electrical Engineering.
