Poetry champ to give free spoken word performance on campus

The public is invited to attend a free spoken word/poetry performance by Katie Wirsing at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, in the Penn State Beaver auditorium, Student Union Building. (Some content may not be appropriate for children.)

Wirsing’s material covers a wide variety of issues, including life, death, comedy and people’s daily routines. Her team won the National Poetry Slam in 2006, and she was the Denver City Slam Champ in 2007. She also represented Denver at the Women of the World Poetry Competition and participated twice in the Individual World Poetry Slam Competition.
