Penn State Beaver faculty books, publications are announced

Academic books and other scholarly research findings of Penn State Beaver faculty members were recently announced.

Kevin L. Bennett, senior instructor in psychology, is the author of the book, “Jealousy’s Design: Maladaptive Trait or Psychological Solution?” from Lambert Academic Publishing. It is now available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and other retailers.

Zhongyuan Che, associate professor of mathematics, co-authored a refereed journal article, “Forcing Faces in Plane Bipartite Graphs (II),” which appeared in Discrete Applied Mathematics.

Michael Hay, associate professor of chemistry, co-authored two refereed journal articles. “Analytical Methods for Pesticide Residues” was published in Water Environment Research by the Water Environment Federation. “Tetrabutylammonium tetrakis(trimethylsilanolato-ᴋO)ferrate(III)” appeared in Acta Crystallographica Section E: Structure Reports Online which is published by the International Union of Crystallography.

Kay Wijekumar, associate professor of information sciences, and technology (IST) wrote a grant report, “Efficacy Grant on ITSS (Intelligent Tutor Structure Strategy)” and co-authored a technical report, “The Effects of Odyssey Math on Grade 4 Student Math Achievement in the Mid-Atlantic Region,” both of which were published by the Institute of Education Sciences.

Martin Goldberg, associate librarian, wrote a refereed article, “Extracurricular Reading: Creating and Sustaining on Campus Book Clubs,” which was published by the Reference & User Services Quarterly, American Library Association. In addition, Goldberg authored reviews of the following books:

-- “Millions of Jews to Rescue: A Bergson Group Account of the Campaign to Save Jews from the Holocaust” by Samuel Merlin
