Continuing Education offers PEC SafeGulf/SafeLand orientation course

The Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education will offer a Petroleum Education Council (PEC) Basic SafeGulf/SafeLand Orientation course over three months from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday, March 2; Thursday, April 18; and Thursday, May 16; in Room 15, Beaver campus Student Union Building.

The course, which is designed replace multiple operator orientations, provides participants with a general idea of life and safety issues in the oil and gas industry, whether upstream, downstream, on-shore or off-shore. It meets API RP 75 and API RP T-1 requirements and provides a basic, awareness-level understanding of general safety information employees should know before entering a company facility and/or performing duties. Course fee is $225 and course instructor is Robert Watkins. Penn State Beaver is a Shale Training & Education Center (ShaleTEC) affiliate with the Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences.
