Penn College offers noncredit course on Making Money With Your Voice

Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, in conjunction with Voice Coaches, is offering a class on Making Money With Your Voice.

The noncredit course will be offered from 6:30 to 9 p.m. April 1; the cost is $35.

People from all walks of life are turning to voice acting for supplemental or retirement income – or as a full-time career. People who are told they have a great speaking voice may not realize there is an enormous voice-over industry.

Despite economic fluctuations, the profession is experiencing tremendous growth while embracing a broadening range of voices. Advances in technology and changes in the way information is presented continue to open new doors for voice-over actors.

Participants will learn everything from getting started, working in the studio, effective demo-production methods and industry pros and cons, to where to look for opportunities in and around the community, and how to land a job. Participants have the opportunity to record a mock commercial under the direction of a Voice Coaches producer.

Voice Coaches provides industry-leading educational resources, training and professional development to individuals pursuing professional voice acting. The company is a leader in voice-over production and evaluation, one-on-one training and demo development.
