Men's lacrosse remains ranked in USILA, Nike/Inside Lacrosse polls

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State men's lacrosse team is ranked for the 16th straight poll cycle. The Nittany Lions check in at 18th in the United State Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches Poll and 19th in the Nike/Inside Lacrosse Media Poll. The USILA has ranked Penn State in every poll since Feb. 27, 2012.

Last week the Nittany Lions dropped a tough 12-10 game to Lehigh, who appears 16th in the USILA poll. Penn State fought back from a 5-1 halftime deficit to take a 9-7 fourth-quarter lead, but gave up five straight goals in the decision.

Penn State (2-3), who has lost its last three games by two goals or less against ranked foes, travels to Massachusetts on Saturday for a Noon matchup in Amherst, Mass. The Minutemen have dropped their last three games and are ranked tied for 19th by the USILA and dropped out of the Inside Lacrosse poll altogether.

UMass and Penn State were tabbed first and second in the Colonial Athletic Association preseason coaches' poll. Currently, Hofstra (10th) and Drexel (13th) are ranked ahead of the preseason favorites in the USILA poll.
