Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence plans programs

 

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will hold the following workshops in Room 315, Rider Building:

-- Lauren Kooistra and Andrew Porter, graduate consultants with the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will lead “Creating an ePortfolio:  Enhancing your On-Line Presence” from 1:45 to 3 p.m. March 20. The interactive workshop will focus on how graduate students can create an online portfolio to document their teaching. Among the topics discussed are: developing an online presence for the portfolio (e.g., ePortfolio), choosing the right development platform, incorporating teaching materials in the portfolio and documenting your effectiveness as a teacher by interpreting SRTEs and providing evidence from teaching observations. This workshop is part of a three-seminar series focusing on professional development and preparation for the job market. All graduate students and postdocs are welcome, especially individuals who plan to enter the job market soon.
