Library News calls associate dean's Shakespeare book a "Best 2012 Reference"

A book by Kenneth Womack, associate dean of Academic Affairs at Penn State Altoona, and William Baker, "The Facts on File Companion to Shakespeare," was recently selected by Library News as a "Best 2012 Reference."

In their Library News review of Womack and Baker's five-volume set, Brian E. Coutts and Cheryl LaGuardia write that “Many readers have difficulty understanding and enjoying Shakespeare’s work. The primary objective of this wonderfully organized and accessible new resource is to counter those difficulties. Active Shakespearean scholars and teachers provide extensive coverage of every play, 76 sonnets and all of his longer poems, beginning with ‘Venus and Adonis.’ Part one places the Bard’s life in context through the latest research. Part two covers his poems and Part three, his plays. Discussions of modern criticism and the plays today will interest students.”
