Peer volunteers needed for weight loss study

Peer volunteers are needed for a research study at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center determining the effectiveness of a peer-led weight loss program.

Women ages 21 to 65 who have been successful at losing weight may be eligible to participate. Volunteers need to have no history of weight loss surgery.

Participation requires attending as many as 10 hours in training sessions and then leading 12 weekly group sessions. Compensation is provided.

The study director is Erica Francis, Department of Medicine.

This research study, IRB 40861, has been approved by the Institutional Review Board, under federal regulations at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, Penn State College of Medicine.
