Plane makes safe landing at University Park Airport

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- An airplane operated by Delta Airlines has landed safely at the University Park Airport this evening (Feb. 26) after smoke was reported inside of the aircraft. Sixteen people were on board, including crew and passengers, and all walked away from the plane safely.

The airport runway has been closed as a result of the landing, but should reopen by 9:30 p.m. EMS and Haz Mat units are on the scene and standing by. The flight, Delta Airlines flight 6044, was en route from Cleveland, Ohio to LaGuardia Airport in New York City, N.Y.
