Rapper Kendrick Lamar coming to Bryce Jordan Center in April

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Tickets will go sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 27 for the upcoming April performance by hip-hop sensation Kendrick Lamar at the Bryce Jordan Center. 

Lamar will perform at 8 p.m. April 22.

Previously known as K. Dot, Lamar's long awaited album, "good kid, m.A.A.d city," was met with critical acclaim and has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Hip Hop DX named Lamar Emcee of the Year for its 2012 Year End Awards. Early this year, Lamar performed the album's lead singles "Swimming Pools (Drank)" and "Poetic Justice" on "Saturday Night Live." He also appeared alongside host Adam Levine and The Lonely Island on an SNL Digital Short. Before releasing his major label debut, the Compton, Calif.-based Lamar assembled an Internet following while working with notable hip-hop artists like Dr. Dre, Drake, Young Jeezy, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne.

Last week, Lamar released a new video for "Poetic Justice," the Janet Jackson-sampling collaboration with Drake.Reserved and General Admission tickets go on sale Feb. 27 at the Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Downtown Theatre, Altoona Campus Ticket Outlet, online at Ticketmaster.com or at 814-865-5555. Tickets are $29.50. There will be a limited amount of $14.50 tickets for University Park students courtesy of the University Park Allocation Committee. A UPAC student presale started at noon Feb. 26 for University Park students at the BJC, Eisenhower and Downtown Theatre only.
