Student scholarships the focus of May 11 Blues and White Gala

Planning is under way for the fifth annual Blues and White Gala, the annual scholarship fundraiser designed for students attending Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus. The theme of this year’s May 11 event is “Blues and White Gala: Tropical Style.”

The gala will be held at Horizon Point at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and will feature steel drum duo Island Sounds by Phil Webster during cocktail hour. Following dinner, local favorites Abacus Jones will perform a set list of crowd favorites with a tropical twist.

Mistress of ceremonies for the evening will be WTAE-TV news anchor Sally Wiggin.

This year’s Friends of Penn State Fayette honorees are Terry and Denise McMillen, in appreciation of the couple’s campus support throughout the years.

The event’s silent and live auctions will include sports memorabilia, travel and recreation packages, fine art and crafts items, and more.
