The 2013-14 Steve A. Garban Grant-In-Aid for children of Penn State employees

Children of full-time Penn State or Penn College technical service or staff employees may apply for the 2013-14 Steve A. Garban Grant-In-Aid.

Eligible students must be offered admission as first-year, full-time students at any Penn State campus or at the Pennsylvania College of Technology; must have demonstrated leadership and humanitarian qualitiesthrough extracurricular activities; and must have achieved or show promise of achieving academic success. This grant-in-aid, awarded to one first- yearstudent, will be applied to room and board charges for two years, provided the student continues to meet all eligibility requirements.

To apply, eligible students must submit a letter of application that includes three parts:  the student's name and PSU ID or Penn College ID; the Penn State or Penn College staff employee's name and position; and apersonal essay of no more than two typewritten pages that illustrates the student's leadership, humanitarian and academic merits.  Letters ofapplication will be accepted until April 26. The award recipient will be selected and announced in May.
