Breastfeeding Support Program at Penn State offers various services

The Breastfeeding Support Program (BSP) at Penn State offers a variety of support services to University students and employees and their spouses/domestic partners. Breastfeeding provides a wide range of benefits for children and their families. Returning to work or class is often cited as a primary obstacle to breastfeeding. When mothers are provided with essential services to support breastfeeding and pumping, they can achieve their goals. The BSP offers the following services at little or no cost:
•        Lactation stations at University Park, Abington, Harrisburg, Fayette and Worthington Scranton available for breastfeeding or pumping during the work/school day. Most stations are equipped with hospital grade breastpumps.
•        Basics of Breastfeeding, and Working and Breastfeeding classes at University Park. To register, go to  https://app3.ohr.psu.edu/emPower/frm_login.cfm.
•        Certified Lactation Counselor available for breastfeeding or pumping problems. Phone/email help is available across the commonwealth; in-person consultation is available in the State College and Altoona areas.
•        Lending library with breastfeeding and parenting resources
•         Monthly lunch hour Working and Breastfeeding Support Groups, and Peer Mentoring Program at University Park.
•         Low cost sales of breastpumps at University Park. Pumps are now also available through Highmark at network durable medical equipment suppliers. For more information, go to http://ohr.psu.edu/assets/employee-and-family-resources/documents/BreastfeedingInsuranceCoverageFAQs.pdf.
