Family focus day at NYSP Camp July 12

The focus of the National Youth Sports Program (NYSP) at Penn State New Kensington will be on the family tomorrow (July 12). Parents of more than 200 children involved in the five-week program will be on campus from 2 to 4 p.m. that day for a cookout and to hear from representatives of a number of social service organizations. "We want to involve parents and guardians in the NYSP program," said Jay Moser, activities director. "Through our Family Focus Day, they will receive information on services available from different community resources." Earlier in the day, the 10 to 12-year-old NYSP campers will visit the youth farm operated by former Steeler Mel Blount in Washington County, and the 13 to16-year-old group will attend a trial at the Allegheny County courthouse.
