RESIDENCE HALL STUDENTS REQUIRED TO FILE MENINGITIS FORM

Beginning with the fall 2002 semester, Pennsylvania requires all students residing in university-owned housing, including all residence halls and apartments, to complete a Meningococcal Vaccination Certification/Exception Form and file it with their university. This new process is part of the College and University Student Vaccination Act recently passed by Gov. Mark Schweiker and the Pennsylvania Legislature.

Depending on the campus at which they are residing, Penn State students will file the form at the University Park Assignment Office or with the appropriate Housing and Food Services Office at Commonwealth locations. Students planning to live on campus will be required to either provide proof of vaccination against meningococcal disease or indicate their decision to be exempt from the immunization requirement by filling out and returning the specified form by Aug. 17.
