Johnson is USA Today Player of the Week, Doak Walker Award Semifinalist

Penn State running back Larry Johnson ran for a school-record 327 yards against Indiana to earn USATODAY.com Player of the Week honors. The senior, who scored four times from 69, 43, 1 and 49 yards, also surpassed Lydell Mitchell's Penn State single-season record by improving his total to 1,736 yards in the 58-25 victory. For his efforts this season, Johnson also has been selected one of eight semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation's top collegiate running back since 1990. The announcement was made by the SMU Athletic Forum Board of Directors. A fifth-year senior, Johnson is the only player from a Big Ten institution among the semifinalists.
