Hopkins Honored for 40 Years of Service on Advisory Board

The DuBois Educational Foundation (DEF) board of directors, the community advisory board to Penn State DuBois, honored a long-time director at its recent meeting. The DEF paid tribute to Edward L. Hopkins, who was attending his final meeting as a director after 40 years on the board. In recognition of his four decades of service, Paul "Bud" Brazinski, Jr., president of the DEF board, presented a check for $1,000 from the DEF to the Edward and Janet Hopkins Scholarship Fund. The contribution will help endow the scholarship created recently at Penn State DuBois by Hopkins' children. In addition, the board bestowed on him the honorary title "director emeritus." "This is an exciting time for the DEF board," said Hopkins. "Penn State has been very good to me; five of my children have graduated from it. I have enjoyed every minute of service to the University." For the full story, visit http://www.ds.psu.edu/UnivRelations/NewsEvents/def.html
