Gift enhances teacher education in drug, alcohol abuse

A gift to Penn State Harrisburg's Partnership for Prevention organization is providing information and curriculum assistance to teacher education students in the areas of drug and alcohol abuse. "The partnership is part of a University-wide effort to prevent the abuse of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs while fostering an environment that does not support abuse," says Sam Monismith, associate professor of health education. The effort links Penn State campuses with community schools and organizations in a partnership to foster an environment that does not support abuse.
