Penn State Beaver to host summer youth camps

This summer the Office of Continuing Education will offer eleven educational, academic and athletic summer youth camps on campus. Camps are open to children from kindergarten through eighth grade and will be held during the week of July 14. The camps are: (1) Imagination Station - centered around J.K. Rowling's best-selling children's novel, "The Prisoner of Azkaban;" (2) Junior Webmaster - students learn basic Web design and ethics of Internet content; (3) French with a Flair - students are introduced to popular French music, culture, and language; (4) Spanish with Style - students are introduced to Spanish culture through dance, music, film and games; (5) Let's Act, Let's Sing - campers are immersed in the theater arts to enhance speaking, focusing and listening skills; (6) Rockets Away - campers explore model rocketry by building and launching model rockets; (7) Cheerleading Camp - will be offered for children K-8; and (8-11) Sports Camps - for baseball, softball, basketball and volleyball.
