Penn State to hold Summer Symposium in Molecular Biology

The Summer Symposium in Molecular Biology series, administered by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, will provide a forum for sharing the latest information and current trends in molecular biology. The 22nd Summer Symposium, "Chromatin Structure and Function," will be held from July 30 to Aug. 2 at The Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.

Since the proper regulation of gene expression is essential for normal cellular processes, and it is well established that alterations in this process lead to a number of human diseases, this symposium will be of particular interest to people in academic, pharmaceutical and biomedical fields. This year's symposium sessions will cover topics including structure and nuclear organization, long-range interactions, histone modifications and chromatin remodeling.
