BJC is world's top university venue for concert ticket sales

University Park, Pa. -- Pollstar has announced in its Mid Year Business Analysis Report on the concert industry that the Bryce Jordan Center on Penn State's University Park campus ranked first in concert ticket sales among university venues throughout the world for the first half of 2003. The Jordan Center also has been ranked 31st in concert tickets sold among all arenas in the world.

Pollstar, a national weekly publication for the concert touring industry, recognized the Jordan Center for selling 99,936 tickets between Jan. 1 and June 30, 2003. As the largest arena between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, the center sold more concert tickets than venues in such major markets as Boston, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Chicago.

Top selling concerts during the first half of 2003 at the Bryce Jordan Center included Bon Jovi's North American tour opener, Alan Jackson, Pearl Jam, Tim McGraw, Bill Gaither, 50 Cent, Linkin Park, Liza Minnelli, Journey, Yanni, Brooks & Dunn, and Cher.
