Come see exploding balloons and a banana strong enough to hammer nails. Witness a physicist narrowly escape a huge flying pumpkin, only to be smashed by a sledgehammer while relaxing on a bed of nails. See an alchemist turn copper into silver and then into gold and get a real "hair-raising" experience with our 100,000 volt generator and tour the new haunted physics lab. Watch all of these fascinating demonstrations and more during the Spooktacular Science Show on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Community Arts Center's Paul R. and Margery Wolf Kuhn Theater at Penn State Altoona. The haunted physics lab will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This show of chemistry and physics demonstrations is suitable for children in grades one and higher, including high school. Admission is free and open to the public. This program is sponsored by Penn State Altoona's division of mathematics and natural sciences.
