Penn State York names new tennis coach

Michael Arnold has been named tennis coach at Penn State York. Arnold is replacing Rod Merrill, who retired at the end of last season. Arnold served as an assistant to Merrill and is taking over the team just as tennis becomes a four-year sport at the campus this fall. Arnold's background includes working as an assistant teaching pro at the McMullen Tennis Center in Clearwater, Fla. Locally he has been involved with the Tennis for Kids program as an assistant site director and has worked as an instructor for the York County Tennis Camp. He has written many articles for Tennis Weekand has covered events such as the U.S. Open for the Associated Press as a freelance correspondent.
