APPOINTMENTS
The following people were appointed to new positions at the University:

-- Jacqueline K. Gardner has been named associate director in the Office of Research Protections.

-- Nancy Hesford has been named the new director of marketing and communications at Penn State Great Valley.

-- Kevin J. McKenna has joined the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Department of Surgery in the College of Medicine, Hershey Medical Center.

-- Kendra Pfautz joined the University's Division of Development and Alumni Relations as assistant director of development for the Capital College.

-- Margaret Uhrich Taylor has been hired as director of Development and University Relations for Penn State Erie, effective Feb. 16.

AWARDS

Five Penn State Outreach staff members have been honored with Vice President's Awards for their contributions to the outreach mission of the University. Craig D. Weidemann, vice president for Outreach, presented the awards during the Outreach Professional Development Conference on Feb. 3.
