Harrisburg campus celebrates Women's History Month

Women's History Month is being celebrated by Penn State Harrisburg Wednesday, March 31 and Thursday, April 1 with "Women in Society: Current Issues and Topics" -- a series of seven events over two days and related exhibits throughout the campus. All events are free, and the community is welcome. Refreshments will be served at each event. The Capital College has long held a strong regional position in issues and concerns relating to women, initiating: an academic minor in women's studies in the mid-1980s; a liaison committee to the University's Commission for Women in 2000; acquisition in 1991 of the Alice Marshall Women's History Collection, considered the most comprehensive privately compiled collection of women's history materials in the United States; and, with the Pennsylvania Humanities Council, the Women's Enrichment Center with its links to women in the Dauphin County Prison, to name a few.
