DuBois Education Foundation, Penn State DuBois are investing in the future

The DuBois Education Foundation and the Penn State DuBois campus is looking at the new Workforce Development and Technology Center as an investment in the future and is hoping the community views it in the same way. "I see it as a positive to have all the services (Team Pennsylvania) CareerLink offers right there on campus," George Heigel, DuBois Educational Foundation's student affairs chairman, said. Once the $6.9 million building, located on 2.5 acres on the corner of Route 255 and North Sixth Street, is open it will be instrumental in training a new type of workforce for the community and surrounding area, he said. A trained workforce that could be used to attract new business to the area as well as meet existing employers' needs.
