First-year students at Penn State Capital College's Harrisburg and Schuylkill campuses will again begin their collegiate academic experience early this year. For the fourth consecutive year, all incoming first-year students at the campuses will participate in a summer reading program that focuses on encouraging intellectual interaction among students even before their first semester of college formally begins in late August. This year, a college-wide working group selected "The Pact: Three Young Men Make a Promise and Fulfill a Dream" by Sampson Davis, George Jenkins and Rameck Hunt. Billie J. Jones, assistant professor of humanities and writing, is again serving as faculty adviser to the summer reading program.
