Men's lacrosse announces 2004 team awards

The Penn State men's lacrosse team recently announced its 2004 team awards. Senior captain Brian Mabry (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and five other Nittany Lions were honored. Mabry earned the George Pittinger award for the most valuable senior on the team. He was a regular defensive midfielder for four years and was a great student athlete and team leader. In 2002, he was named the Nick Thiel most improved player on the team. Mabry also earned the "Friends of Penn State Lacrosse" GPA Award for the second time in his career. For the past two years, he was named to the ECAC All-Academic team and this year was an Oswald Award recipient, which is handed to graduating seniors who provide outstanding leadership throughout the university.
